A Sweet Little Love Note in Pie Form

If you’re looking for an adorable Valentine’s treat that doesn’t require hours in the kitchen, these cherry hand pies are your answer.

They’re flaky, fruity, and perfectly

portioned — like little edible Valentines.

Ingredients:

1 prepared pie crust

Bon Maman Cherry Preserves

1 egg (for egg wash) OR 2 tbsp melted butter

Optional:

Coarse sugar

Extra pie dough for decorations

How to Make Heart-Shaped Cherry Hand Pies

Roll out pie crust

Use a heart-shaped cutter to cut 16 hearts (8 bottoms + 8 tops)

Lay 8 hearts on a parchment-lined baking sheet

Add a dollop of cherry preserves in the center

Top with remaining hearts and seal edges with fork or fingers

Brush with egg wash or melted butter.

Bake at 400°F for about 20 minutes until golden

Optional: Sprinkle with coarse sugar after baking for sparkle ✨

Let cool slightly before serving.

Tips

Don’t overfill or they’ll leak

Chill assembled pies 10 minutes before baking for cleaner edges

Try other preserves for variation

These are perfect for:

Valentine’s brunch

Galentine’s gatherings

Sweet lunchbox surprises

A cozy night in

These heart-shaped cherry hand pies are proof that the sweetest gestures don’t have to be extravagant — just thoughtful and homemade.

Whether you’re baking for your Valentine, your Galentines, your family, or just treating yourself (because yes, you deserve it), I hope these little pies bring joy to your kitchen.
