Homemade Pizza Recipe

(With Endless Topping Ideas!)

There’s nothing like a homemade pizza—especially when the dough is fresh, the cheese is bubbling, and the toppings are totally your vibe.

Here's a simple, delicious recipe you can customize to your heart's (and taste bud's) content.

Ingredients

• 1 pizza dough (fresh or sourdough if you’ve got it!)

• Pizza sauce (or see tip below for an easy homemade version)

• Shredded cheese of choice

• Toppings of choice

• Olive oil

• Salt & pepper

• Flour (for dusting)

ree

Instructions

• Prepare the Dough

• Lightly flour a clean surface or cutting board.

• Place your dough on top and let it rest for 30 minutes (room temperature is best!).

• Prep the Pan

• Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or use a pizza pan.

• Preheat the Oven

• First, preheat to 450°F (232°C).

• Shape the Dough

• Gently stretch the dough to your desired size and shape.

• Transfer it to the prepared baking sheet.

• Drizzle lightly with olive oil and season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

Par-Bake the Crust

• Bake in the 450°F oven for 7 minutes.

• Remove from oven and set aside.

• Raise the Heat

• Increase oven temperature to 500°F (260°C) for final baking.

• Assemble Your Pizza

• Spread pizza sauce evenly over the par-baked crust.

• Add a generous layer of shredded cheese.

• Pile on your favorite toppings!

Final Bake

• Bake for about 11 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is lightly golden brown.

Slice & Serve

• Let cool slightly, then slice it up and enjoy!

Tips & Variations

🍞 Use Sourdough for Bonus Flavor

Fresh dough is always best—and sourdough adds that extra tangy magic.

🍅 No Pizza Sauce? No Problem!

Grab a can of chopped or crushed tomatoes.

Simmer in a small pot on medium-low heat with 1–2 tsp of cornstarch or flour to thicken.

Season with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs for an easy, delicious alternative.

🎨 Get Creative With Themes

• All-Things Pickled

Use mustard aioli as your base and top with chopped pickled veggies (think red onions, peppers, capers, etc.)

ree

• Pesto-Rosso

Swirl together pesto and tomato sauce as the base. Add fresh tomatoes, fresh basil, and a sprinkle of sea salt.

Final Thoughts

Homemade pizza night is a vibe—make it your own with whatever you’ve got on hand. Mix sauces, play with textures, and above all… make it fun.
